Interior Ideas

7 interior accessories that are needed in every home.

Vase

Almost every home sees flowers from time to time, making it practical to have at least one, or preferably a pair of vases. Choose a universal model: for example, simple cylindrical, glass ones are suitable for modern interiors. They look great with both ornate bouquets and a few flowers. Additionally, you can fill vases with something else: mini-garlands, dried flowers, or fruits.

Bedspread and Throw for the Bed

A bedspread and throw also play both a decorative and functional role. Primarily, they protect the bedding from dust. If there are animals in the house, it’s also better for them to sleep on top of the throw rather than directly on the blanket and pillows. Besides, decorative textiles give the bedroom a more finished look and allow you to stick to the chosen color scheme, even with multicolored bedding sets.

Rug

A rug makes any space cozier: the bedroom, living room, or even the hallway. With its help, you can add color or texture, highlight a specific area, or create a beautiful color combination with furniture and decor. When choosing a rug, remember that it should be proportionate to the nearby large furniture. Otherwise, the rug will simply get lost in the room’s scale and disrupt the harmony of the composition.

Large Painting or Poster

It’s not necessary to fill every free wall space in a room with a complex arrangement of paintings, photographs, posters, and other wall decor. But one large item, matching the style and color scheme, will make the space noticeably more stylish and interesting. Choose a free, well-lit area of the wall, which is immediately noticeable upon entering the room. Bright objects already attract enough attention, so you can boldly offset them from the visual center. The exception is two posters of the same size, placed over a sofa or bed. In this case, symmetry will look striking.

Accent Lamp

Lamps are often considered only in terms of technical characteristics, and bright and unusual models are avoided. But in fact, a floor lamp of an interesting shape, a stylish table lamp, or a colored chandelier can be the touch that makes a room visually more luxurious and well-thought-out. All other light sources can be chosen in a minimalist style to avoid visual noise.

Candles

Candles have become one of the key decorative elements in Scandinavian style for a reason. In northern countries, where the winter is long with short daylight hours, the warm reflections of flame immediately add coziness. At the same time, this decor is also relevant in any other style. If you are concerned about fire safety, use a covered candle holder or choose LED candles with natural flickering.

Decorative Pillows

You can make a bed, sofa, or chair brighter by adding decorative pillows. Choose them so they are not too small and do not visually get lost against the background of large furniture. Meanwhile, the pillows can be of different colors, shapes, and sizes. This decorative element allows you to change the feeling of the interior depending on the season and simply refresh the space quickly when you feel like it.
