Delight in 6 Designer Interiors with Retro Tiles

Metlach tiles, mosaics, patterned designs — designers are increasingly using such tiles in residential apartments today. And it’s clear why — they look very impressive.

In the Kitchen and the Hall

The apartment features an interior in the style of modern classics with Eastern motifs. Metlach-style tiles are a perfect fit for this space. They cover an area next to the kitchen set, resembling a rug. And the floor in the spacious hall, where white tiles with black fragments are “belted” with a pattern. And the path to the kitchen is laid out with white and yellow diamonds.

At the Entrance

In this house, the designer created an atmosphere of an old manor at the owners’ request. The entryway immediately “declares” the chosen style, including through the floor covering. Here, the Metlach-style tile in rich brown, beige, and light blue creates a pleasant pattern, reminiscent of a beautiful carpet. The tiles look particularly striking against the backdrop of wallpaper with a small floral pattern, decorative wall panels, and a vintage mirror.

In the Kitchen Area

In this apartment, the designer created a vibrant interior. For instance, the kitchen — with yellow walls, dark red lower cabinets, and a brass backsplash. Tiles matching these colors were chosen, also in the Metlach style. Moreover, the bright tiles also serve as a zoning element, as the kitchen merges with the living room.

In the Hallway

The studio team renovated this apartment in an old building, aiming to create an interior that hints at the era of the building’s construction. And they succeeded — the space features delicate parallels. The bright hallway immediately draws attention with its yellow tiles featuring a subtle geometric pattern. Notice how perfectly these tiles separate the entrance area, without any other zoning elements.

In the Kitchen

The designer of this apartment incorporated elements of American classic style, and the Metlach tiles in the kitchen fit perfectly into the space. Against the backdrop of neutral walls, white cabinet facades, and a beige backsplash, the yellow, brown, blue, and black colors of the floor are expressive yet not overly bright or loud. The Metlach tiles are captivating and also act as a zoning element. The kitchen and living room are combined, but the flooring distinctly separates these areas.

In the Bathroom

The designer created the interior of this apartment for her friend and her family, achieving the atmosphere of a historical apartment in a new building. This feeling is especially tangible in the bathroom. A mirror in a carved frame, a floor-standing sink on two legs, and retro-style floor tiles laid out in a beautiful “carpet” create a space where one can easily relax and feel at least like royalty.
